- ➤ Dan 'Carp' Combs, a Perry Township trustee and high school teacher who supported community nonprofits (Friends Place, Area 10 Agency), died on Tuesday, Jan. 6; residents honored his legacy at a township memorial, and officials will choose an interim trustee before the November election. - ➤ Indiana University Public Safety has launched a new education center that offers safety courses for professionals and the public, including basic detective work, police mountain biking, autism awareness for first responders, and crime prevention through environmental design.
