- ➤ Today, a local hiker enjoyed a brisk winter hike on the Rock Shelter Trail in Morgan Monroe State Forest, a three-mile loop with rugged gravel, scenic wooded paths, and a historic rock shelter near Bloomington. - ➤ City of Bloomington has revised its sanitation pickup schedule as delays continue from Winter Storm Fern and low windchill temperatures. Pickup will resume tomorrow, Jan. 28, and residents should keep carts off streets until service restarts. The Bloomingtonian
- ➤ Monroe County Highway Department crews spent 48 hours clearing roads during a snowstorm that dropped 12-16 inches and pre-treated 700 miles with a salt-brine (beet juice mixed in), sand, and salt. The crews rested Monday and resumed early Tuesday to keep roads safe. The Herald-Times
- ➤ Indiana lawmakers may repeal Hunter’s Law that helps kids manage diabetes in class, urging a shift in existing safeguards amid ongoing debate on federal versus state protections. Rep. Cash plans to propose an amendment today to prevent the law’s removal as the bill moves forward. WTHR
