- ➤ The Monroe County Community School Corporation board approved transferring up to 12.5 million dollars from the Education Fund to the Operations Fund + updated the Teacher Appreciation Grant program with new state rules at Tuesday’s meeting and launched a financial transparency portal for the community to track spending. - ➤ Lawmakers modified a bill to allow teachers to optionally display the 10 Commandments in classrooms, and it passed the House Education Committee on Tuesday (8-3 vote). It now awaits a full House vote by Thursday at the Indiana Statehouse. WTHR

- ➤ Cassie Hauswald, a Bloomington resident and Hoosier native, leads The Nature Conservancy in Indiana with plans to protect 10,000 acres and improve water quality; she brings experience from tree planting and bison restoration to her role.
