- ➤ After nearly three years of playing local gigs, Bloomington band Welcome to the Neighborhood will perform Friday at The Bluebird, with members planning to pursue other projects and a possible final March show ahead. Indiana Daily Student
- ➤ The Herald-T revisits a classic local column — My Favorite Ride — that highlighted Phil and Judy Taylor’s 1960 turquoise-and-white Impala purchased for $1,500 and has celebrated 1,130 features since its 2001 debut. The Herald-Times

- ➤ Unemployment claims in Indiana dropped last week as first-time claims fell to 3,203 from 3,789 for the week ending Jan. 24, according to a U.S. Department of Labor report, and nationwide claims declined to 209,000. The Herald-Times

- ➤ At a Thursday forum in the Bloomington High School South auditorium, MCCSC officials presented options for the former Herald-Times building at 1900 S. Walnut St while local residents proposed turning it into a STEM or welcome center (officials will review survey results and update the board on Feb. 24). The Herald-Times

- ➤ Indiana men’s tennis rallied on Sunday with wins over Middle Tennessee and Toledo, reclaiming momentum after a rough start + the team will travel to Hanover, New Hampshire on Feb. 7 to face Dartmouth. Indiana Daily Student

- ➤ Upland Brewing and Coca-Cola are marking IU's national title with commemorative cans. Upland Brewing will release a limited-edition Hoosier Gameday Lager can in mid-February while Coca-Cola will sell its commemorative cans in Bloomington and the Indianapolis area the week of Feb. 3.
