- ➤ On Feb. 19, a tornado with 70‑mph winds damaged Monroe County Humane Association campus — shattering windows, destroying the roof and scattering debris — while five dogs and five cats in crisis care were rescued and placed in temporary foster homes as cleanup crews begin work. The Herald-Times
- ➤ Severe weather on Friday damaged the Monroe County Humane Association campus on Fieldstone Boulevard with broken windows and fallen items. Officials (at the campus) inspected the building and are planning repairs. The Herald-Times
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ An EF2 tornado hit Bloomington’s west side on Thursday night, damaging roofs and leaving over 1,200 residents without power by 9:30 p.m. Cleanup crews are working today to repair homes and clear debris. Indiana Daily Student

- ➤ The Sidney and Lois Eskenazi Museum of Art at Indiana University is showing Mulyana: Vital Ecosystems — a free exhibit of hand-knitted art that mimics coral reefs by Indonesian artist Mulyana and his team — running through June 28. The Herald-Times
- ➤ Indiana University’s Lilly Library now displays the Dunlap Broadside — one of 26 surviving copies of the original Declaration of Independence — as part of the America 250 Initiative celebrating 250 years of U.S. independence; the exhibit is open through July with self-guided tours and school visits available. - ➤ Bloomington Montessori School teacher Eve Loftman Cusack was honored last year as a Hoosier Resilience Hero by IU’s Environmental Resilience Institute for her work banding birds. - ➤ Indiana University approved today a nearly $16 million modernization of the Jacobs School of Music’s Musical Arts Center in Bloomington—upgrades will improve electrical systems, stage lighting, and stage machinery while a roof restoration is scheduled for summer to support future partnerships. - ➤ Indiana University’s Board of Trustees met Friday at the Madam Walker Legacy Center in Indianapolis to adopt the Chicago Principles and approve a $100,000 raise for President Whitten while also revising BOT-25 and launching IU Inc. - ➤ Indiana University reworked Curt Cignetti’s contract in Bloomington after he led the Hoosiers to their first national championship. The new deal raises his annual salary to $13.2 million and makes him the highest-paid coach in the Big Ten & runs through 2033. WTHR
- ➤ South's Nick Russell earned a medal spot by defeating No. 6 Joseph Warner on Friday at the IHSAA state wrestling finals held at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
