ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Video footage captured damage to the Monroe County Humane Association after an EF-1 tornado hit Bloomington on Feb. 19 (shelter officials are reviewing the damage to ensure animal safety).  The Herald-Times

EDUCATION NEWS

  • IU's Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences launched its first weather balloon on campus Saturday and will launch two more today at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. near East 11th Street (and East Cottage Grove Avenue) to boost student training and improve local forecasting.  Indiana Daily Student

SPORTS NEWS

  • Indiana men's basketball lost 93-64 to Purdue Friday night in West Lafayette + Purdue dominated the game from tipoff to finish, and the Hoosiers will focus on their 7 p.m. Tuesday home game against the Wildcats at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall.  Indiana Daily Student
  • Tucker DeVries said his team must quickly regroup after a 93-64 loss to Purdue, as Indiana looks to learn from the challenging game and move forward.  The Herald-Times
  • Indiana women's tennis swept Cornell at the IU Tennis Center on Feb. 21. Coach Gabrielle Moore's team won decisive singles matches and secured a 6-2 win in doubles.  Indiana Daily Student
  • Indiana women’s basketball will host Oregon today at 1 p.m. at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall in Bloomington. The Hoosiers, ranked 15th in the Big Ten, return home after losses and will seek a win for tournament hopes (senior guard Shay Ciezki is sidelined).  Indiana Daily Student
  • Saturday afternoon, Indiana baseball defeated UCF by a score of 6 to 1 as pitcher Brayton Thomas pitched five innings and Reagan Rivera wrapped up the game, allowing just one earned run + three hits over nine innings.   • Indiana men’s tennis beat Texas Tech 4-0 Friday at the IU Tennis Center, with redshirt junior Sam Landau and Braeden Gelletich leading the win. The team will host UCLA on March 6 at 6 p.m. and USC on March 8 at noon after a week at home.  Indiana Daily Student
  • The men’s basketball game between Bloomington North and Floyd Central took place on Feb. 21 at 7:30 p.m. Live score updates kept local fans informed as the contest unfolded.  The B Square Bulletin
  • On Feb. 20 at Wilkinson Hall, Hoosier wrestlers faced Purdue in matches that saw Jacob Moran earn a technical fall and Joey Buttler clinch a win with last-minute points, while others were decided by split decisions.  Indiana Daily Student
