- ➤ The IU Office of Student Life placed the Sigma Alpha Mu fraternity on cease and desist on Wednesday due to hazing, and the chapter is barred from hosting or attending events while further investigation continues. Indiana Daily Student
- ➤ BloomingArts Theatre Company is holding teen auditions for its musical comedy production Once Upon a Mattress on April 26 at Monroe County Public Library’s downtown branch auditorium (303 E. Kirkwood Ave). Auditionees must prepare a musical cut, with rehearsals beginning June 22 for shows from July 17-19; scholarships are available. The Herald-Times

- ➤ On Sunday, March 8, bars and restaurants may serve alcoholic drinks until 4 a.m. — an extra hour to make up for daylight saving time. The Indiana Alcohol and Tobacco Commission granted the extension to keep service hours consistent. The Herald-Times
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ After a comeback win over Nebraska on Wednesday, Indiana women's basketball fell to Ohio State on Thursday at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, ending their Big Ten Tournament run. - ➤ IU basketball coach Darian DeVries grew emotional on Senior Night as he spoke about his son Tucker's experience at the game, creating a touching moment for fans. The Herald-Times

- ➤ Harper Eakin of South and Ellie Vagedes of Edgewood shared the 2026 Herald-Times Girls Swimmer of the Year title after winning sectional championships and breaking school records over four-year careers.
