- ➤ Friends of Spring Mill State Park invite community members to learn about new displays, park updates, and future plans at their annual meeting on March 16 at Spring Mill Inn. The event begins at 6 p.m. in the Oak Room and offers door prizes and light refreshments. The Herald-Times
- ➤ Bloomington held its annual Pet Expo where residents visited over 20 booths featuring adoptions, pet supplies, and expert advice. Organized by Bloomington Parks and Recreation, the event gave pet owners a one-stop place to explore services (from custom snake enclosures to grooming options) and connect with fellow animal lovers. - ➤ Silkroad Ensemble featuring Rhiannon Giddens will perform global music at IU Auditorium on March 12 at 7:30 p.m. The program also offers free engagement events on March 11 with a discussion at Auer Hall, a voice workshop at Sweeney Hall, and a pre-show talk at the Fine Arts Building. - ➤ IU’s South Asian a cappella group Humraah wowed audiences with a performance blending Indian classical, Bollywood, and English songs, marking a season of new leadership and mentorship; the group will hold auditions in September for its 2026-27 season. Indiana Daily Student
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Indiana University’s Office of Student Life placed Sigma Alpha Mu on cease and desist until further notice as it investigates hazing allegations; the action follows a voluntary resolution agreement from Feb. 9 and bars the fraternity from hosting social, recruitment, educational and philanthropy events. - ➤ Bloomington council backed the Hopewell South rezone plan but will vote March 25; the proposal would allow 98 homes on city land near 2nd and Rogers. Meanwhile, the Cycling Club held the Candy Stripe Criterium Sunday morning and high school basketball saw Bloomington South lose 44 to 39 in the sectional championship. The B Square Bulletin
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Indiana women’s tennis played Saturday at the IU Tennis Center, losing a doubles match to Purdue while winning against Southern Indiana to move to 10 wins (3 losses). The team will host Big Ten contests against Wisconsin and Minnesota next week at noon. Indiana Daily Student
- ➤ Indiana men's basketball lost to Ohio State 91-78 in Columbus, leaving their season in doubt; the Hoosiers now face either Northwestern or Penn State at 6:30 p.m. EDT on Wednesday in Chicago for a Big Ten Tournament win & a chance at March Madness. Indiana Daily Student
- ➤ Indiana softball defeated Minnesota 5-0 on Saturday at Andy Mohr Field (Bloomington). The team scored five runs on nine hits, with key plays from Aly VanBrandt and Avery Parker bolstering their win. Indiana Daily Student

- ➤ Indiana wrestling ended 10th at the Big Ten Championships in University Park, Pennsylvania over the weekend with a total of 40 points while four wrestlers earned automatic bids for the NCAA Championships in Cleveland (March 19-21) and the rest will await at-large bid announcements on March 10.
