  • Today, the Monroe County Courthouse (100 W Kirkwood Avenue) hosts a 'No Kings' demonstration from 1-3 p.m. as part of over 60 Indiana events mapped for Saturday.  The Herald-Times

CULTURE NEWS

  • Indiana State Fair announced its 2026 theme 'Always a Hit' in partnership with the Indianapolis Indians during Opening Day events on March 27 at Victory Field — the fair will run from Aug. 7-23 with attractions like a mini-Victory Field and a wiffle ball diamond.  WTHR

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Indiana University Bloomington (IU) junior Shraavya Pydisetti ’27 is interning on Capitol Hill at Congresswoman Beth Van Duyne's office from January through May, handling tasks from constituent calls to legislative work. She is building skills to blend finance and policy for her future career.  Indiana University
  • MCCSC trustees reviewed an elementary redistricting study report expected in spring and construction projects at both high schools— they also approved early childhood contracts and discussed a new state law banning student cell phone use during school. The district will soon launch its Strong Schools Advisory Council.  The B Square Bulletin

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • Alluinn Development, a Chicago-based firm, will break ground this summer on a new 170-room, four-story hotel at the corner of Rogers and Tenth streets in the Trades District. The $60 million project features a ground-floor restaurant, meeting space (5,500 sqft), and a public rooftop bar that adds sustainable design to the area.  The Herald-Times

  • Indiana baseball lost 6-5 to Nebraska Friday night at Hawks Field at Haymarket Park — graduate pitcher Reagan Rivera tossed 3.2 innings with two earned runs — and the team will face Nebraska again Saturday at 3 p.m.  Indiana Daily Student
  • Bedford native Chloe Spreen left Indiana women’s basketball on Friday after one season with the Hoosiers and joined the transfer portal alongside three teammates with limited playing time.
