- ➤ Protesters gathered downtown + at the Monroe County Courthouse on Saturday, March 28 for the No Kings demonstration in Bloomington. The event drew a large crowd that marched with signs and banners throughout the area. The Bloomingtonian
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ IU Cinema hosted a screening and Q&A of the film 'Eric LaRue' on Friday with Michael Shannon and Brett Neveu (the event featured discussions on the film’s production and real-life inspirations) and about 100 community members attended. Indiana Daily Student
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ At Bill Armstrong Stadium on Saturday, Kappa Alpha Theta led a field of 36 teams with a 2:43.883 finish in the women’s Little 500 qualifications. The defending champs will try for a historic third win in the main race at 4 p.m. April 24 & extend their title defense. Indiana Daily Student
- ➤ Indiana men’s swimming & diving team finished third at the NCAA championships with 351 points after competing in 21 events in Atlanta from Wednesday through Saturday. The team earned its fifth straight top-five finish while setting NCAA records in several races. Indiana Daily Student
- ➤ At Bill Armstrong Stadium on Saturday, 15-time champions Cutters posted the fastest qualifying time of 2:25.711+ overtaking Sigma Phi Epsilon to secure the top starting position for the men’s Little 500. Riders will begin the Spring Series on March 31 to set the stage for the race. Indiana Daily Student
- ➤ The Bloomington North boys track team three-peated at the Hoosier State Relays indoor championships at Fall Creek Pavilion in Indianapolis on March 28, winning three relays and scoring 60 points to edge out Franklin Central and competitors (missing key runners Jacob Mitchell and Kellen Bishop). - ➤ Indiana baseball lost 12-7 to No. 24 Nebraska on Saturday at Hawks Field at Haymarket Park in Lincoln after a late rally fell short, and the team will try to avoid a series sweep in the finale at 1 p.m. EST today. Indiana Daily Student
- ➤ Indiana softball swept Detroit Mercy last weekend at Andy Mohr Field with scores of 8-0 and 7-5 and will face UCLA in a three-game series starting Friday night at Easton Stadium in Los Angeles — the final game is scheduled for today at 3 p.m. Indiana Daily Student
- ➤ Indiana track and field started its outdoor season at Raleigh Relays in Raleigh, North Carolina, where eight athletes achieved personal bests + senior Makayla Hunter led with a second-place shot put finish. The team will next compete at the Battle of the Bayou on April 3-4 in Baton Rouge. Indiana Daily Student
