CULTURE NEWS

  • IU’s Singing Hoosiers held their two-act spring concert Saturday night at the Musical Arts Center, featuring skit introductions, solos, and tributes that showcased U.S. music from different eras. The center will host the Spring Ballet on April 3 and 4.  Indiana Daily Student
  • WIUX’s Poddy Mouth event took place Friday at Moon Roof music venue, featuring live local music and a podcast trivia contest (losers got pied in the face) that brought students, musicians, and fans together. The event showcased Bloomington’s growing podcast and music scene.  Indiana Daily Student
  • Bloomington hosts a busy week of live music featuring events from Wednesday to Saturday at venues like the Orbit Room (family-friendly shows starting near $5.67), The Bluebird, and Buskirk-Chumley Theater with concerts for ages 21 and older featuring local and touring acts.  Indiana Daily Student

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Two Monroe County roads are closed this week for culvert replacements and repairs due to recent washouts, and six additional roads have lane restrictions during morning hours - county crews urge drivers to slow down and follow posted signs.  The Herald-Times

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • The B Square reported Monroe County property transfers from March 4 to March 25 based on Beacon (county GIS) data, noting transactions from $0 to over $2 million at various local addresses.  The B Square Bulletin

SPORTS NEWS

  • Indiana men's tennis defeated Purdue 4-1 Saturday at IU Tennis Center, lifting the team to 9-7 on a two-game winning streak. They will play Illinois on April 3.  Indiana Daily Student
  • IU women's water polo lost 4-16 to Stanford on Mar. 28 at the Student Recreational Sports Center — freshman attacker Audrina Kang and senior goalkeeper Jasmine Higgs were key figures — as Stanford built a 5-0 early lead.  Indiana Daily Student
  • On March 29, IU women's tennis faced Nebraska at the IU Tennis Center, where Alessandra Teodosescu won her singles match while Ameia Sorey, Nicole Teodosescu, and Hi'ilani Williams lost in three-set contests and junior Elisabeth Dunac's singles match ended unfinished.  Indiana Daily Student
  • Indiana baseball struggled in three games on the weekend at Hawks Field, falling 6-5, 12-7, & 12-4 to Nebraska. The team will try to bounce back against Evansville Tuesday at Charles H. Braun Stadium with first pitch at 7 p.m.  Indiana Daily Student
  • Indiana baseball was swept by Nebraska over the weekend as the Hoosiers lost a 6-5 opener, a 12-7 game, and a 12-4 finale after missed late-game opportunities. The team will face Evansville next Tuesday at 7 p.m. EDT at German American Bank Field at Charles H. Braun Stadium.  Indiana Daily Student
