- ➤ Novo Nordisk confirmed that around 400 positions will be cut at its Bloomington site in early May — leaving about 1,400 employees and offering severance and transition support. City officials are working with local partners to help affected workers find new job opportunities. The Bloomingtonian

- ➤ Bloomington will host Easter weekend events including a tribute concert for John Mellencamp Friday at Brown County Playhouse, an art exhibit at Backspace Gallery, and a Beetlejuice screening at IU Cinema, with free egg hunts for dogs at Switchyard Park and for kids at St. Mark’s United Church on Saturday. - ➤ The Indiana Commission for Higher Education approved a plan on April 1 to eliminate 210 low-enrollment degree programs from public colleges, following a 2025 law imposing strict quotas. Current students can complete their programs as schools shift offerings toward in-demand fields & consolidate others. The Herald-Times

- ➤ John Wood Jr., national ambassador for Braver Angels, spoke Tuesday at Maxwell Hall during an IU event (attended by about 50 people) urging his audience to bridge political divides (calling for a 250th anniversary celebration marked by mutual respect). Indiana Daily Student
- ➤ The Bloomington Police Department launched the Blue Envelope Program today at 5:13 a.m. to help drivers with autism by providing an envelope containing key documents (driver’s license, registration, and insurance) and guidelines for safer stops; residents can pick up the free materials at BP and City Hall. - ➤ Indiana men's basketball added a neutral-site contest with Syracuse — set for Nov. 9 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis — as part of its 2026-27 nonconference schedule that also includes games against Kentucky on Dec. 27 at Lucas Oil Stadium and Bellarmine on Nov. 5 at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall.
