- ➤ Bloomington police charged 18-year-old Gregory Baker Jr.—who traveled from Chicago—with attempted murder and other felonies after he allegedly fired his gun during a neighborhood fight on West Illinois Court near 11th and Monroe just after 7 p.m. on March 29, hitting a nearby apartment but causing no injuries. - ➤ A statewide Silver Alert was issued for 64-year-old Gary Edwards who was last seen on April 4 at 10:30 a.m. in Bloomington—he is 5 feet, 11 inches tall with brown hair and hazel eyes and was wearing a light blue jacket, t-shirt, and blue jeans while driving a grey 2014 Buick Regal with the plate SDR414—and authorities believe he is in extreme danger. - ➤ Bloomington Mayor Kerry Thomson said new fiber network installations will be paused for the next couple of months—after the subcontractor failed to meet city requirements and a short-term partner was brought in to assess the work.
