- ➤ The Downtown Activation Program brought outdoor dining, pop-ups and seasonal events to boost downtown activity; outdoor dining began April 9 and will run through Nov. 9 with restaurants along Kirkwood Avenue installing parklets (small seating spaces) to welcome diners. City of Bloomington

- ➤ Jacobs School of Music celebrated composer Vojislav Ivanović with a concert at Auer Hall Wednesday night. His week-long residency featured guest duets with his wife Aleksandra, masterclasses, and performances by faculty and students. Indiana Daily Student
- ➤ At IU’s Fine Arts Building on Wednesday at 8 p.m., filmmaker Boots Riley — known for his unique films — discussed his writing and directing process with about 50 audience members, and the talk ended with a Q&A session. Indiana Daily Student
- ➤ Bloomington hosted Night With the Son on April 8 at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall, where IU students and special guests including founder Stuart Reimers, Tiffany Hudson and Cliff Knechtle shared messages on faith and reason as over 4,000 gathered. Indiana Daily Student

- ➤ Indiana University’s quiz bowl team qualified for the Intercollegiate Championship Tournament and will compete today at NAQT after qualifying on Feb. 7. Four players will represent IU while one member will join the Academic Competition Federation Nationals on Apr. 18–19 (club president Justin Hawkins expects improved performance).
