  • Dogs enjoyed an Easter egg hunt at Switchyard Park on April 11 when owners paid $7 per dog to join the event featuring eggs with treats or toys and a raffle for a dog-themed gift basket, sponsored by House of Paws + The Dog House.  Indiana Daily Student

  • Residents are nominating their favorite local services at the Best of B‑Town Community’s Choice Awards — voting began this April. Anthony's Lawn Care and Landscaping, a trusted company with over a decade in service, is competing for recognition in its field.  The Herald-Times

CULTURE NEWS

  • The IU Fashion Design B.A. Fashion Show took place on April 9 at Alumni Hall at the IU Memorial Union, where students presented a range of collections—from nature-inspired designs to modern critiques—by designers including Max Miller, Angela Thomas, and Addison Keller + others.  Indiana Daily Student
  • Another Round celebrated its 30th anniversary with a spring concert Friday night at Buskirk+Chumley Theater. The group featured guest Straight No Chaser and closed with a joint rendition of 'Back Home Again in Indiana' while teasing a new album on its website.  Indiana Daily Student
  • Bluebird Improv featuring top comedians including Matt Walsh, Marc Evan Jackson, Brad Morris and Joe Canale will perform live at Comedy Attic on Apr. 23 at 7 p.m.—tickets cost $43.55 and $53.55, with a second show at 9 p.m. if sold out.  The Herald-Times

  • The B Square has published new property transfer data for Monroe County covering transactions from March 17 to April 3 (sourced from Beacon). Reports will be issued every Sunday.  The B Square Bulletin

SPORTS NEWS

  • At Bill Armstrong Stadium in Bloomington on April 11, 33 cycling teams competed in the Little 500 team pursuit, with Black Key Bulls (3rd) and Kappa Alpha Theta (also 3rd) among the top finishers, while other teams placed between 7th and 16th.  Indiana Daily Student
  • Indiana track and field competed at the Crimson Tide Invitational Friday in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, where nine athletes reached top five finishes and four claimed wins in field events. The team will face a three-meet weekend with events at the Gibson Invitational, Wake Forest Invitational + Tom Jones Memorial.  Indiana Daily Student
  • Indiana volleyball played a non-conference spring match against Kentucky on April 10 at Wilkinson Hall— their first meeting since 2019. The team announced its next spring game will be open to the public against Purdue.  Indiana Daily Student
  • Indiana baseball lost 14-4 to Maryland at Bob 'Turtle' Smith Stadium Saturday as the Terrapins built their lead early and dominated pitching. With the series tied 1-1, the Hoosiers will take the rubber match today at noon with sophomore Brayton Thomas set to start.  Indiana Daily Student
  • At Friday’s Miss N Out event, Libby Lewis of Alpha Chi Omega and Judah Thompson of CUTTERS secured first place in the women’s and men’s races respectively. The event is part of the Little 500 spring series, which finishes with the Team Pursuit on Saturday at Bill Armstrong Stadium.  Indiana Daily Student
  • The Indiana women's tennis team beat Penn State 4-3 at the IU Tennis Center on April 11. Strong singles wins by junior Elisabeth Dunac, sophomore Nicole Sifuentes, and freshman Hi'ilani Williams boosted the team's record to 14-8.  Indiana Daily Student
