- ➤ Bloomington officials announced they will not renew the Flock camera contract and a court order restored student IDs as voter ID, while local leaders face a dispute over the North Park jail site, approve a 360-unit Greystar apartment project, and hold the annual Trashion Refashion runway show. - ➤ Parks and Recreation completed key repairs at Banneker Community Center with roofing work finishing in April and limestone steps replaced in March—ensuring the historic facility remains safe and welcoming for community programs. - ➤ Four IU faculty received Guggenheim Fellowships from the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation. Christoph Irmscher and David Polly from Bloomington and Professors Edward Curtis and Gerard Magliocca from Indianapolis were selected & Curtis and Magliocca are the first from IU Indianapolis to earn the honor. - ➤ On Apr. 14, candidates for Indiana’s 9th U.S. Congressional District discussed science, technology, & the environment at the Monroe County Public Library auditorium in a forum organized by Indiana University Concerned Scientists. - ➤ City officials in Bloomington are studying the Kinser Pike/Madison Street/Rogers Street corridor to enhance safety for pedestrians & bicyclists and support redevelopment. - ➤ Indiana's softball team delivered a strong win over Notre Dame on Tuesday in five innings but lost an extra innings game to Louisville Wednesday as pitching faltered.
