- ➤ Indiana University is considering bringing back the bison as its official mascot after the Student Government passed a bill following a student poll favoring the native animal. - ➤ An Indiana State Police news release on April 21 warned that a Facebook post falsely claims a missing Bloomington Police officer is being sought and a Silver Alert has been issued—using a real officer's details to trick people into giving up personal data as multiple posts circulate the scam. - ➤ On Friday, IU's Collegiate Recovery Community hosted a cookout for students recovering from substance use to share their journeys and learn about local support—coordinator Samantha Reitz said the event aimed to connect students with recovery resources while providing a safe, social space.
