  • Bubbakoo's Burritos is opening tomorrow at The Shoppes (917 S. College Mall Road) and will serve build-your-own burritos, bowls and tacos with many protein and sauce choices. The new restaurant will offer free burritos to the first 50 customers and a buy-one-get-one-free deal on Friday.  The Herald-Times

CULTURE NEWS

  • My Hero Academia in Concert, a live music event with a world-class ensemble performing favorite themes from the anime, will take place at IU Auditorium on Saturday, Oct. 24 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets go on sale Friday, Apr. 24 (10 a.m).  WTHR

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Monroe County Community School Corporation is inviting Bloomington residents to help shape local school plans by joining its advisory council plus sharing feedback in an online survey open through May 6; the council began its work on April 15 and will complete three sessions by May.  The Herald-Times
  • Bloomington was named the third-best college town in the Midwest by the 2026 Best College Towns report, ranking 13th nationally with strong retention and graduation rates + high quality of life measures. The report evaluated affordability and education quality to highlight the city's success.  The Herald-Times

  • Hogan Denny had four hits and drove in seven runs in Indiana baseball’s 20-10 win over Ball State on Tuesday at Shebek Stadium in Muncie, helping the Hoosiers reach 20 runs for the ninth time under coach Jeff Mercer.  Indiana Daily Student
  • Indiana basketball coach Darian DeVries restocked his roster with transfers from high majors ahead of next season, and analyst Jon Rothstein cautions not to celebrate the team's top-25 ranking on paper yet — the new players come from Alabama, SMU, Notre Dame, Duke, Georgia Tech, and Villanova.  The Herald-Times
  • Bloomington North defeated South 25+13, 25+17, 25+22 at IU's Wilkinson Hall on Apr. 21, 2026 in a historic match that featured a father coaching against his son. Senior Gavin Hodgson led the win, and a rematch may occur in May if sectional play requires it.  The Herald-Times
  • Six Indiana women’s basketball players left the program via the transfer portal after the 2025-26 season — with Nevaeh Caffey heading to Missouri, Edessa Noyan transferring to Nebraska, Faith Wiseman joining Western Michigan, Phoenix Stotijn moving to Auburn, Chloe Spreen shifting to Illinois State, and Jade Ondineme remaining undecided.  Indiana Daily Student
