EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Indiana University’s biology labs at Myers Hall have been closed since Thursday night due to USDA activity affecting six lab rooms and ongoing research. University officials said they will update the department when the labs reopen. Indiana Daily Student
- ➤ After the Canvas breach disrupted Indiana University and Monroe County Community School Corporation on Friday, both worked to secure systems and restore service; MCCSC said no student names or emails are confirmed as exposed (teachers are adjusting grading procedures). The B Square Bulletin

- ➤ The Indiana men’s basketball team added its 11th scholarship player Friday when German center Clemens Sokolov committed to join the team. The 18-year-old — 6-foot-11 and experienced with youth world cups — is set to boost the Hoosiers’ 2026-27 roster. Indiana Daily Student
- ➤ Bloomington high school coaches weighed in on IHSAA’s May 8 decision to deny adding a shot clock to varsity games. Several coaches predict a shot clock will eventually be adopted — seen as a way to boost pace and defense, although cost concerns remain. The Herald-Times
