- ➤ Severe storms hit Bloomington and Monroe County on Friday, causing damage to structures such as the Ranchero Motel and the Clear Creek Post Office (temporarily closed) and downing trees and power lines that affected around 75 homes, with five non-severe injuries reported. - ➤ Bloomington residents wrote in a recent letter that U.S. universities always attract money from international students and warned that cuts to Medicaid, SNAP, and housing aid would worsen hardship for low-income clients. An IU alumnus questioned why the university's president and trustees have not spoken out after a law ended a 134-year tradition of alumni electing three trustees—prompting a call for clearer leadership on education priorities.
