The City of Bloomington’s ITS department’s GIS team earned the Indiana Geographic Information Council’s 2025 Excellence in GIS — Large Community award for its Crash Hub project that tracks vehicle crash data in Bloomington.

The initiative forgives $1 million already as of May 27, adds $1 million if Will Power finishes in the top 10 at the Indianapolis 500, and gives $2 million through a Colts partnership while Verizon upgrades wireless at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway—nearly covering all local veterans’ medical debt.
