- ➤ Bloomington police arrested 22-year-old Thomas Jacob Stinson on May 28 for felony kidnapping and battery after he allegedly grabbed a young girl on May 23 outside AMC Showplace Theater 12 on West Third Street—officials said his unsupervised outing raised questions about his supervision given his developmental disabilities. - ➤ A 25-year-old Solsberry man—identified as Jeffery A. Caldwell Jr.—was arrested around 11:20 p.m. on May 27 after he attempted to break into Meadows Hospital at 3600 N. Prow Road with a stick and shattered windows including one in a juvenile patient’s room, police said. The Bloomingtonian

- ➤ Bloomington has a busy weekend of events that include a free foraging class on invasive plants Friday from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the Community Orchard—there is also a free screening of '10 Things I Hate About You' at dusk on the Indiana University campus, free outdoor Shakespeare plays at Waldron, Hill and Buskirk Park throughout the weekend, and a new 'City on the River' exhibit opens Saturday at the IU Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology while the Limestone Comedy Festival brings 60 comedians to various venues. - ➤ Janet McCabe, a former EPA deputy administrator, will return to IU faculty on July 1 with a yearlong appointment at the IU Robert H. McKinney School of Law, the O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs, and the IU Environmental Resilience Institute.
