- ➤ Visitors to Beanblossom Bottoms Nature Preserve saw new upgrades on June 6 that included an educational kiosk, benches at the trailhead, an improved access trail and better parking. Sycamore Land Trust, headquartered in Bloomington, funded the project with a Duke Energy Foundation donation and is using the work to protect wetlands—reducing flooding risks and helping wildlife thrive. - ➤ Residents and business owners affected by the May 16 tornadoes in Monroe County are now eligible for low-interest disaster loans from the SBA. The agency opened a Disaster Loan Outreach Center at Ivy Tech—open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.—with applications for physical damage loans due by July 29 and the center closing at 3 p.m. on June 18.
