- ➤ The Bloomington Fire Department has shared guidelines for safe fireworks use this Fourth of July, advising residents to buy from licensed sellers, store fireworks in a cool place, and use them only on approved property during set hours—residents are urged to keep children, pets, and those sensitive to loud sounds safe by following these tips and using extra caution around emergency supplies. - ➤ The Monroe County Fair will open June 30 at the Monroe County Fairgrounds on W Airport Road and run until July 6 with carnival rides, live music, rodeo events and a demolition derby. Some special events like a Queen and Princess Pageant and monster truck rides require tickets while parking remains free during the fair. Indiana Daily Student
- ➤ Monroe County offers several fireworks shows for Fourth of July week, starting with a donation-based event at the Fairgrounds on June 27 at 7 p.m. + Additional celebrations will be held on July 4 at Lake Lemon, Bloomington Speedway, Grace Baptist Church, Emmanuel Church, and Fourwinds Lakeside Inn & Marina, while Ellettsville hosts its 30th annual free event on July 5 with a rain backup on July 6.
