- ➤ Bloomington officials released inspection reports for Crawford Apartments that show many code violations at the supportive housing complex on South Henderson Street—problems include missing smoke detectors, pest infestations, and broken features in several units. The city will ask the court to impose about $5.9 million in fines and give Continental 30 days to either fix the issues or vacate the property. The B Square Bulletin
- ➤ Five miles from the track, race day at Bloomington Speedway brought excitement to a summer night. Earlier, Monroe County Sheriff Ruben Marté submitted a revised immigration enforcement policy on Tuesday, June 24—filed in connection with a lawsuit by Indiana’s Attorney General. - ➤ The Bloomington Fire Department is now Monroe County's first permanent child car seat fitting station at its headquarters on 320 W. 8th St.—it offers free car seats to eligible caregivers with state aid and a licensed driver. The program, created by the Mobile Integrated Healthcare team in collaboration with the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute and approved by the Indiana Department of Health, has already fitted 45 seats and accepts walk-ins or appointments.
