- ➤ Camp Tecumseh in White County said its severe weather plans are in place after floods in Texas left 27 people missing, and camp CEO Joel Sieplinga said the team will stay alert as the camp, which hosts more than 500 kids, continues its summer program—focusing on keeping children safe near the Tippecanoe River. - ➤ Bloomington offers many food truck events this week, with Food Truck Friday set at Switchyard Park on Fridays from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. with live music from 5 p.m. Food trucks will gather on Tuesdays outside The Mill at 642 N. Madison St and on Saturdays at Marci Jane Lewis Park in Ellettsville through July 26 plus Two Sticks Bakery and Hoosier Seoulmate remain on summer break until July 21 and July 17 respectively. - ➤ The IU Chin Language Research Project held a workshop Tuesday at West Perry Library to help teachers understand Chin languages and cultures—tools needed to build more inclusive classrooms. - ➤ Residents have noticed that water in Bloomington has turned brown or yellow because seasonal changes and high water levels in Monroe Reservoir have released minerals such as iron and manganese—though tests confirm the levels do not pose a health risk. City of Bloomington Utilities is adjusting operations and recommends that residents change water filters more frequently until the water clarity improves. City of Bloomington
- ➤ Bloomington’s redevelopment commission approved a $1.7 million contract with Crider & Crider to rebuild Jackson & Rogers streets in the Hopewell neighborhood once IDEM gives environmental clearance. The project supports the reuse of the former IU Health hospital site and is set to start Aug. 1 and finish Nov. 1 while raising total costs near $40 million. The B Square Bulletin
- ➤ The City of Bloomington Utilities will launch Utility Access, a new online portal that allows water, wastewater — and stormwater customers to view bills, enroll in autopay, and track usage beginning August 4.
