  • The Musical Arts Center, home of IU’s opera and ballet programs, will host six fall performances including operas and ballets with events scheduled from Sept. 13 through Dec. 13.   • Parents are advised to help incoming college students by planning early for move-in day with a checklist to avoid clutter and by calling the dorm office to learn parking rules.   • IU has provided a guide of health resources for students that explains where to get emergency care at the IU Health Hospital Emergency Medicine Clinic, nonemergency help at IU Health Urgent Care, mental health support via Counseling and Psychological Services with key contact numbers like 911 and 812-855-5711, services at the Student Health Center, and nearby pharmacies like CVS—helping new students quickly find the care they need.  Indiana Daily Student

  • Local sports editor Bob Hammel died Saturday night at 88—he spent over 40 years covering IU athletics and earned national awards for his work. His family will receive visitors Sunday, July 27 from 1-3 p.m. at The Funeral Chapel in Bloomington.  The Herald-Times
