- ➤ An 18-year-old female was arrested after allegedly shooting a person in the leg at IU Bloomington campus around 3 a.m. on Aug. 23—police said the victim, who is not affiliated with IU, was treated for non-life-threatening injuries while the suspect now faces charges of aggravated battery and criminal recklessness. - ➤ Bloomington celebrated its annual Pridefest on Aug. 23 on East Kirkwood Avenue—where drag shows, live music, face painting, vendor stands and performances by Rozé Coutur and Sebastian Passion entertained many attendees who also donated tips during the event. Indiana Daily Student

- ➤ Two IU student organizations were placed on disciplinary status this summer. The Palestine Solidarity Committee was put on cease and desist on Aug. 15 for disorderly conduct — while the Sigma Chi chapter was suspended on June 13 for dishonest conduct, endangering others, hazing and physical abuse. - ➤ Indiana men’s soccer will host San Francisco Sunday night at 7:30 p.m. at Bill Armstrong Stadium—Indiana enters the match after a 0-0-1 tie with Clemson and with several key players uncertain due to injuries. Indiana Daily Student
- ➤ On August 22, Indiana high school football games ended with scores from the first week of Operation Football—Bloomington South beat Columbus East 42-7 while Adams Central won 7-0 over Garrett. The scores from many matchups show varied results across the state. WTHR
- ➤ The Edgewood Mustangs won their home opener 38 to 0 against the Mitchell Bluejackets on Aug. 22 with strong runs from Braxton Carpenter and good kicks from Kade Gilchrist.
