- ➤ On Aug. 21, the under construction Posh On Kirkwood hotel offered locals an early look on Kirkwood Avenue as General Manager Matt Swisher said it will boost downtown by opening next month — the images show an unfished top floor room called the Cignetti room and other spaces nearing completion — signaling modern design. - ➤ Today, the Bloomington Economic Development Corp. celebrates 40 years of growing the local economy—its work has brought over 900 new jobs and more than $1B in investments since 2020—and it supports a Simtra BioPharma Solutions project that will add 90 high-paying jobs. The Herald-Times
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Project 46 has released its 2022 report that shows the region produced 4.2 million metric tons of carbon dioxide from vehicles, homes, and businesses. The report lists three key steps—using more electric vehicles, making buildings more energy efficient, and recycling waste—to lower emissions by up to 39% by 2030, and Mayor Kerry Thomson says the work will guide efforts to build a stronger community.
