- ➤ Novo Nordisk announced plans to cut 9,000 jobs globally, with 4,000 cuts outside Denmark, but it did not confirm any changes for its Bloomington plant. - ➤ Indiana University announced that 48,626 undergraduates are enrolled this fall in Bloomington—over 10,000 of whom are freshmen and more than 5,000 are from Indiana—marking a new school record. WRTV

- ➤ Monroe County completed mold remediation in its justice building and follow-up tests on Sept. 5 showed that indoor air quality was acceptable after work addressed HVAC condensation and leaks. The county plans a long-term stewardship program—featuring ongoing testing, regular cleaning and strict housekeeping standards—to help prevent future mold outbreaks in the aging facility. - ➤ Bloomington High School South and North will meet at Huff Field this Friday at 7 p.m.—South is undefeated with three wins while North has one win and two losses. - ➤ On Sept. 10th, 2000, IU president Myles Brand fired longtime basketball coach Bob Knight after he broke rules by having unwanted contact with a student near Assembly Hall. Angry students gathered at Brand’s home—police made arrests as chaos spread on campus that night. The Herald-Times
