- ➤ IU’s all-male a cappella group Another Round went viral on TikTok after its 'Birthday Sex' cover received over 31 million views and led to more than 100 booking inquiries from campus groups. The group will perform a Pitch Perfect-themed gig on Oct. 24 at Merrill Hall and a winter show on Dec. 12 — its members plan to pursue music professionally after graduation. Indiana Daily Student

- ➤ Indiana University students have switched to flip phones to cut back on social media use and be more present in daily life. Maxwell Woehler, Gretchen Forcum, and Wesley Kopis switched last Thanksgiving and reported better focus and improved academic performance, though they still face challenges like navigation without built-in GPS. - ➤ City officials said that Bloomington’s projected $30 million deficit over the next two years could nearly cut its main fund reserves from $55 million to $25 million if high spending continues. The council will adopt the 2026 budget at 6:30 p.m. today — Mayor Kerry Thomson plans to implement a priorities-based approach to manage funds. The Herald-Times
