- ➤ Bloomington Storytellers Guild celebrated its 50th anniversary by hosting the Festival of Ghost Stories at Bryan Park on Friday night. Nine storytellers shared spooky tales with folk music and group singing to give the community a close experience—keeping the art of storytelling alive. Indiana Daily Student
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ On Friday from 9 a.m. to noon, about 30 students, IU arborists and ReWild IU volunteers planted nearly 96 trees, shrubs and grasses along a 200-foot strip by the East Parking Garage to help stop erosion and filter stormwater. A $5,000 grant from the Office of Sustainability also paid for a small trail and a clearing—set to become a quiet spot for students and visitors. Indiana Daily Student

- ➤ Bloomington South girls won the regional cross country title at Angel Mounds on Oct. 25 as junior Lexi Kollbaum set a new 5k record with a time of 17:32.7 that cut nearly 20 seconds off the school’s previous best. Five Monroe County teams will advance to the state finals in Terre Haute next week. The Herald-Times
- ➤ No. 23 Indiana volleyball lost to No. 20 Minnesota at Wilkinson Hall on Friday after Minnesota won three sets to one with scores of 25 to 19 in the first, second, and fourth sets and Indiana winning the third 25 to 18 — coach Steve Aird said serve-receive errors hurt the team and they will work to improve in upcoming matches. - ➤ Indiana linebacker Aiden Fisher scored his first career touchdown on an early pick-six against UCLA on Saturday but left the game with an apparent injury, playing one series (wearing a left-knee brace) before being replaced by Isaiah Jones. The Herald-Times
