- ➤ The Artisan Guilds of Bloomington hosted their annual holiday art show and sale at Monroe Convention Center, which ran from Friday until 3 p.m. Sunday — featuring blown glass jewelry, handcrafted pottery, locally made clothing, and a collage workshop led by artist Jennifer Davis. The event included work from the Indiana Glass Guild, Bloomington Spinners and Weavers Fiber Art Guild, and Local Clay Potters’ Guild and offered workshops and membership options to help local artists build their skills. - ➤ Local fans watched the Mitski: The Land film at Buskirk-Chumley Theater on Saturday, which showed live footage from her Atlanta tour and featured songs from her latest album. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Every Wednesday, Kirkwood Observatory invites Bloomington locals and IU students to stargaze using its 12-inch doublet telescope in Dunn’s Woods until November 19 and will resume public viewings after spring break. The observatory’s solar lab will be open on November 8 and November 15 from 1 to 3 p.m.—allowing visitors to see sunspots and solar prominences while updated schedules are posted if weather or the end of daylight-saving changes the hours. - ➤ Construction on The Beverly—which replaces the old Poplars building—is progressing toward a planned opening in fall 2026. The B Square Bulletin
- ➤ Community members and real estate professionals toured the historic Batman Waldron House on Halloween to view the limestone landmark before it goes to an online auction. The auction — hosted by Estate & Downsizing Specialists LLC — will close on December 1 at 8 p.m. and the property remains protected as a local historic district. The Bloomingtonian
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Indiana volleyball defeated No. 19 Penn State on Sunday in University Park as freshman Jager and senior Tatum led the team with critical plays. The win—Indiana's first in Pennsylvania—improved their record to 9-3 and tied them with Wisconsin for third in the conference. Indiana Daily Student
- ➤ Indiana football dominated Maryland with a 55-10 win Saturday, and the game report card praised nearly every position group for its strong play. The review noted that quarterback Fernando Mendoza rebounded after an early mistake while the running backs and defensive line earned top marks. Indiana Daily Student
- ➤ Indiana football suffered several injuries in their win over Maryland as linebacker Fisher did not play, receiver Sarratt left early with a tightened hamstring, and defensive lineman Wyatt ended his season—coach Cignetti said the team will lean on its next man up mentality.
