- ➤ On November 5th—two days ago—a group of cyclists gathered at Fernandez Plaza in front of city hall for their regular full moon ride. The B Square Bulletin
- ➤ Bloomington leaders honored Charlotte Zietlow, a pioneering advocate for women's rights and government transparency who died on Nov. 5. Former city and county officials praised her decades-long mentorship and noted that her legacy continues to shape public service+ her contributions made our local government more open and fair. - ➤ Today, Bloomington hosts a screening of 'Weird' at IU Cinema at 7 p.m. and an adults-only craft night at Allison-Jukebox Community Center from 5 to 7 p.m., with members previewing the History Center’s 44th annual garage sale (9 a.m. to 6 p.m.). The Handmade Market at Monroe Convention Center will run Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday as a family day, while the full garage sale takes place Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Herald-Times
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A Wednesday morning fire at Fourwinds Lakeside Inn and Marina on November 6th destroyed three boats and moderately damaged a fourth as firefighters used several hundred feet of hose lines and pushed burning vessels into the lake to prevent further spread—no injuries were reported. - ➤ The Bluebird — originally a deli and bar that added a music venue — remains a key part of Bloomington’s music scene under owner David Kubiak. He books local bands and touring acts to create shows that appeal to IU students and town residents. Indiana Daily Student
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ The City of Bloomington Parks and Recreation will begin controlled deer hunts at Griffy Lake Nature Preserve on Nov. 15-16 and Nov. 22-23 to reduce deer browse pressure on native plants and trees — only selected hunters may participate. The preserve will be closed to the public from 11 p.m. Friday before each hunt until 5 a.m. Monday after. City of Bloomington

- ➤ Indiana women’s basketball, fresh off an 80-46 win over Lipscomb, will play its second regular season game today at 7 p.m. at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall in Bloomington—UIC enters the matchup after a 78-63 loss to Robert Morris. Indiana Daily Student
- ➤ Indiana volleyball will play Iowa today at 6 p.m. at Wilkinson Hall and then travel to Madison on Sunday at 2 p.m. to face Wisconsin—after reaching a historic No.18 ranking following wins over Penn State and Maryland. Indiana Daily Student
- ➤ Indiana football ended an 11-1 season and was ranked No. 2 in the first 2025 College Football Playoff rankings—trailing only undefeated Ohio State and ahead of Texas A&M.
