ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ The Indiana Department of Natural Resources said deer-vehicle collisions peak between September and December as deer mating season increases risks on state and county roads—forested areas in south-central Indiana and roads near Bloomington record more incidents. Drivers are urged to stay alert at dusk and dawn to reduce collisions. The Herald-Times
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Indiana University is restoring its iconic Peau Rouge Indiana sculpture outside the Musical Arts Center by stripping old paint, treating the metal for corrosion, and applying the signature Calder Red paint—painting began Nov. 11 and is expected to finish by mid-November with removal of the containment and sod replacement by early December. The project is funded privately through the Bryan Public Art Restoration Fund and supported by the Calder Foundation and expert conservators to preserve an important piece of art history. - ➤ The Jacobs School of Music choral ensemble Pro Cantare gave its fall concert on Tuesday at Auer Hall—30 singers performed 10 songs in a 45-minute set led by director Ryan Block, who built the program over the summer. Indiana Daily Student

- ➤ Local leaders, including Mayor Kerry Thomson, Planning and Transportation Director David Hittle, and City Councilmember Sydney Zulich, will host the next District 6 Traveling Town Hall on December 1 from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Monroe County History Center — residents can ask questions by writing them on index cards at the door and watching the session live on CATS. - ➤ A study co-authored by IU political scientist Ore Koren shows that deadly disease outbreaks make people trust government less. The research found that those living near an outbreak report lower trust in presidents, parliaments, and ruling parties—meaning officials must use clear steps to rebuild public confidence. - ➤ Indiana men’s basketball defeated Milwaukee 101-70 inside Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall as Lamar Wilkerson led with 24 points and junior guard Nick Dorn made his Indiana debut—returning from injury. Tayton Conerway scored a season-high 21 points and the team outshot Milwaukee in the first half—securing a 31-point victory as they prepare to face Incarnate Word at 5:30 p.m. Nov 16.
