COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Heartwork Brewing hosts Townie Night today with Bloomington-themed trivia at 7 p.m.—showing the films Breaking Away and Hoosiers—and will hold its second anniversary celebration with new beer releases from Dec. 5-7. The Holiday Market will run on Nov. 29 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Showers Common with local food, crafts and a visit from Mr. and Mrs. Claus for kids.  The Herald-Times
  • This Thanksgiving weekend, Bloomington holds many festive events for residents, including Townie Night at Heartwork Brewing tonight with trivia at 7 p.m. and free park admission Friday. Residents can also enjoy downtown’s Canopy of Lights on Friday, a Holiday of Lights drive-thru at the fairgrounds, a seasonal market and toy swap on Saturday, plus a tribute concert on Nov 29 honoring a long-time music educator — a mix of events to celebrate the holiday spirit.  The Herald-Times

  • No. 25 Indiana beat Kansas State 86-69 Tuesday night as Reed Bailey scored 21 points—he kept Kansas State's top scorer, P.J. Haggerty, under his usual output while the team built an early lead. Tayton Conerway, Lamar Wilkerson and Trent Sisley contributed key scores as Indiana controlled the game.  WTHR
  • Indiana football coach Curt Cignetti said today that his team is focused on playing Purdue in the upcoming 100th Old Oaken Bucket Game and will not dwell on a Big Ten title game bid. He stressed respect for Purdue plus urged his players to prepare carefully for a challenging contest.  The Herald-Times
  • Senior guard Shay Ciezki scored 26 points and led the Hoosiers to an 82-64 win over Florida Gulf Coast in Fort Myers on Tuesday—Indiana now stands 6-0 and will face Gonzaga at 1:30 p.m. Friday in the GEICO Coconut Hoops tournament.  Indiana Daily Student
