COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The Monroe County Fair Board launched the Holiday of Lights Drive-Through Christmas Display on November 28 at the Monroe County Fairgrounds—cars can view festive displays, hear Christmas music, and visit Santa’s Village, and the route is open on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays until January 4 with set hours. A 5K run/walk is scheduled for December 23—participants can register starting at 6 p.m. and pay $20 per car.  The Herald-Times

CULTURE NEWS

  • Yesterday, thousands of lights and festive displays transformed the courthouse square into a winter wonderland as Santa flipped the switch during the annual Canopy of Lights in downtown Bloomington—an event held since 1985. Costumed characters, dancing elves, and a brass band added to the celebration—bringing a heartwarming holiday spirit to the community.  The B Square Bulletin

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The IU Board of Trustees Governance Committee will meet virtually at 9:00 a.m. on Dec. 2 to review proposed changes to bylaws, the indemnification resolution, and trustee rules — including a new code of conduct, the creation of standing committees and limits on executive committee power — with the public able to join via Zoom.  Indiana University

SPORTS NEWS

  • In the 100th Old Oaken Bucket game, Purdue hosted Indiana on Friday, Nov. 28 at Ross-Ade Stadium—Indiana came in 11-0 while Purdue was 2-9 and faced injury setbacks with key players missing. The contest was broadcast on NBC and streamed on Peacock.  The Herald-Times
  • The Indiana Hoosiers will host Bethune-Cookman today at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall in Bloomington—game time is noon ET. The matchup will feature key players such as Tucker DeVries for Indiana and Jakobi Heady for Bethune-Cookman.  The Herald-Times
  • Indiana women’s basketball overcame a one-point halftime deficit to win 76-72 over Gonzaga at the Alico Arena in Fort Myers on Friday—Shay Ciezki scored 24 points as the team held a close lead until the final seconds.
