GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Monroe County will begin road construction on Ind. 46 near Jack's Defeat Creek bridge in Ellettsville on or after Dec. 1, and westbound traffic will be reduced to one 12-foot lane while INDOT and E&B Paving work on a $4 million project (phase 1 is expected to finish late spring with overall work completing in fall).  The Herald-Times

  • The B Square reported new property transfers in Monroe County from November 6 to November 25, 2025—data from Beacon provided detailed records that include buyer, seller, and sale price, with transactions ranging from $65,000 to over $5.2 million. SPORTS NEWS

  • Indiana football, with a 12-0 record after beating Purdue, will face unbeaten Ohio State on December 6 in Indianapolis—each team seeking a College Football Playoff berth and a Rose Bowl spot.  The Herald-Times
  • Indiana coach Curt Cignetti said Purdue will bounce back after hitting rock bottom when his team won the Old Oaken Bucket game 56-3 on Friday night—he stressed that the intense rivalry remains competitive.  The Herald-Times
  • Indiana basketball won 100-56 at Assembly Hall on Saturday afternoon against Bethune-Cookman to improve to 7-0. Tucker DeVries led with 20 points and five players scored in double figures—showing a strong team effort under coach Darian DeVries.  The Herald-Times
  • Indiana volleyball lost 3-1 to Purdue on Saturday at Mackey Arena in West Lafayette — Purdue recorded 15 blocks and held the Hoosiers to a .106 hitting percentage; their postseason fate will be announced at 6 p.m. today.  Indiana Daily Student
