- ➤ A memorial for Ryan White, a local HIV/AIDS advocate who died before starting at IU, will be installed in the Indiana Memorial Union this spring. - ➤ Utility advocacy groups proposed measures today to lower energy bills for families and small businesses by offering discount rates for low-income customers (and banning summertime shutoffs) while seeking stronger regulator oversight in utility mergers and profit caps. The Herald-Times

- ➤ Indiana University’s HOPE mentoring program, which began in 2012 to help incarcerated youth improve their futures, expanded internationally with its first mentor cohort arriving in Oaxaca, Mexico earlier this year. - ➤ The Indiana Department of Natural Resources (DNR) said that due to milder winters, kudzu is thriving across the state, including in areas near Bloomington. The agency has used herbicides to reduce infestations, with one Greene County pasture reporting a 70% decline in the vine. The Herald-Times

- ➤ The historic Batman House (formerly a funeral home, labor temple and antique shop) sold for $760,000 at auction on Dec. 1 through Estate and Downsizing Specialists. - ➤ Lamar Wilkerson set a career-high 44 points and broke the Hoosiers’ record with 10 three-pointers on Tuesday night at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall + Indiana defeated Penn State 113-72, ending a two-game losing streak. Indiana Daily Student
- ➤ Indiana football defensive end Stephen Daley suffered a serious leg injury after the Big Ten title game on Dec. 10 and will likely miss the season, said coach Curt Cignetti. The team will rely on backups as it prepares for its Rose Bowl matchup. The Herald-Times
